Our Founder
After 18 years trudging through the ditches of addiction, Michelle Adams received help from an unwanted source, the Texas Department of Corrections. After serving 13 months she finally had a chance that she was willing to take.
"I always thought the world was against me" said Michelle. "I never knew that I was the problem or even part of the problem." So upon release, she decided it was time to start living and began the journey of helping other women.
Over the last 7 years Michelle has been the co-founder of a 12 step group in Freeport, TX, helped hurricane Katrina victims find housing and jobs, sponsored many women in recovery, is now the Founder and Executive Director of Recovery Inn, the Founder and President of Texas Association of Recovery Residences, and serves as a board member at the National Association of Recovery Residences.
Michelle's goal at Recovery Inn is to provide much more than housing. Our Life Curriculum Program encompasses many different skills that most new clients do not have. The program also focuses on structure, discipline and consistency.
"I want every woman to know that they are worth it. And that if I can do it so can they."
